It is the perfect place for those looking to have an authentic stay in Florence. This beautiful building is full of history. It was built centuries ago for a wealthy Florentine merchant family. Eventually it became a palace for the wealthy and political Niccolini family.
Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo is like visiting an art museum in itself, spectacular ceilings and walls decorated in renaissance art. It is spacious and furnished with antique furniture.
The staff is multilingual and very friendly. The service is impeccable. They are tremendously helpful and professional. On request they will make reservations at restaurants, museums and taxis.
The bed and bed linens are inviting and comfortable. Rooms have vintage furniture, flat-screen TVs, and stocked mini-fridges. The windows are twenty feet high (shades are adjusted by remote control) and offer beautiful views of Florence. The bathroom is remarkable and everything is clean and comfortable. When you come back to your room at the end of the day, the staff leaves you a lovely poem of the day on your nightstand for you to enjoy. Wi-Fi is free and they have a computer and printer available to print tickets that you may need. They have a small elevator adjacent to the entrance inside the courtyard. You can enjoy breakfast in a sunny elegant salon. They offer fresh coffee, tea, and juice. They also offer freshly made sponge cakes, yogurt, cheeses, meats, assorted bread, pastries and hardboiled eggs.
There is lovely lady that works the breakfast room. She will cappuccino, hot breakfast if you wish, however that will cost extra.
Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo is great experience and a nice change from staying in a large hotel. This is a great place to stay if you like to walk to all the major attractions of Florence. You will definitely not regret staying at Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo.
