Hotel Palazzo Murat Positano

Hotel Palazzo Murat Positano is a stunning hotel positioned in a perfect spot in Positano. It is situated almost at the bottom of the hill near the beach (three minute walk). The location is a perfection combination of accessibility to restaurants and boutiques, and quiet, peaceful nights. There are no cars allowed on the streets near the hotel, which makes the area nice and relaxing.  As cars can't reach the hotel, the taxi will drop you off about a two-minute walk away. Not a problem, just call the hotel and they will quickly meet you and pick up your luggage.

There are two sections to Hotel Palazzo Murat Positano. The old section (an elegant 18th-century building) was a palace and has spectacular views of the sea. The newer section is also very nice with an equally fabulous view. The hotel interior has picturesque hallways showcasing ancient architecture, beautiful paintings and frescoes. Communal areas are full of light and have beautiful french doors that open to the porch surrounded by lemon trees. It features thirty six rooms. They are clean and spacious enough. They all come with A/C, Satellite TV and a balcony. Free Wi-Fi.  Fully equipped bathroom with complimentary products. Turn-down service is offered every night with clean towels and toiletries refreshed.

The staff is wonderfully polite. Efficient and very helpful when it comes to recommendations for dinner and assisting you with planning all of your activities.

Included breakfast buffet is excellent with many choices to start your day. Fresh squeezed juices. Eggs, meats, cheeses, delectable rolls and pastries, etc.  It is set in a peaceful, colorful and scented garden surrounded by bougainvillea plants and lemon trees.

Make sure to visit the famous Al Palazzo restaurant that is located inside the hotel. It is Michelin rated for a very good reason. The quality of the dishes are exceptional. They serve fresh local cuisine. It's beautifully presented and delicious. The waitstaff are outstanding and the service is terrific.

Pool and lounge area is stunning. Plenty of sun loungers, umbrellas and towels by the pool. Situated in a relatively small area, but is very pleasant with views to the sea.

I highly recommend the complimentary boat tour that the hotel offers. It is a lovely coastal cruise around the Amalfi coast and back. The captain also stops and gives you an opportunity to jump off the boat and swim in a calm part of the Mediterranean.
