The views while eating breakfast on the patio are priceless. They prepare a large selection of items and everything is delicious. It includes cereal, cakes, rolls, continental style meats and cheese. Eggs, bacon and sausage for hot breakfast. American coffee, or Cappuccino/Espresso. A choice of tea-served with the pot. They also have a fresh orange juice machine loaded with fresh oranges. If you don’t want to leave your room, they will put together a lovely spread from the breakfast that day and bring it to your room.

The cooking class offered by the hotel is well worth it, and a lot of fun.

The restaurant (Buca di Bacco) on site is exceptional. The food is amazingly delicious. Hotel guests get 10% off.

Hotel Buca di Bacco Positano doesn’t have a pool.[/tab]

    Hotel Palazzo Murat Positano

Hotel Palazzo Murat Positano is a stunning hotel positioned in a perfect spot in Positano. It is situated almost at the bottom of the hill near the beach (three minute walk). The location is a perfection combination of accessibility to restaurants and boutiques, and quiet, peaceful nights. There are no cars allowed on the streets near the hotel, which makes the area nice and relaxing.  As cars can’t reach the hotel, the taxi will drop you off about a two-minute walk away. Not a problem, just call the hotel and they will quickly meet you and pick up your luggage.

There are two sections to Hotel Palazzo Murat Positano. The old section (an elegant 18th-century building) was a palace and has spectacular views of the sea. The newer section is also very nice with an equally fabulous view. The hotel interior has picturesque hallways showcasing ancient architecture, beautiful paintings and frescoes. Communal areas are full of light and have beautiful french doors that open to the porch surrounded by lemon trees. It features thirty six rooms. They are clean and spacious enough. They all come with A/C, Satellite TV and a balcony. Free Wi-Fi.  Fully equipped bathroom with complimentary products. Turn-down service is offered every night with clean towels and toiletries refreshed.

The staff is wonderfully polite. Efficient and very helpful when it comes to recommendations for dinner and assisting you with planning all of your activities.

Included breakfast buffet is excellent with many choices to start your day. Fresh squeezed juices. Eggs, meats, cheeses, delectable rolls and pastries, etc.  It is set in a peaceful, colorful and scented garden surrounded by bougainvillea plants and lemon trees.

Make sure to visit the famous Al Palazzo restaurant that is located inside the hotel. It is Michelin rated for a very good reason. The quality of the dishes are exceptional. They serve fresh local cuisine. It’s beautifully presented and delicious. The waitstaff are outstanding and the service is terrific.

Pool and lounge area is stunning. Plenty of sun loungers, umbrellas and towels by the pool. Situated in a relatively small area, but is very pleasant with views to the sea.

I highly recommend the complimentary boat tour that the hotel offers. It is a lovely coastal cruise around the Amalfi coast and back. The captain also stops and gives you an opportunity to jump off the boat and swim in a calm part of the Mediterranean.[/tab]

    Hotel Villa Gabrisa Positano

Hotel Villa Gabrisa Positano is family owned and ideally located in the heart of beautiful Positano, offering spectacular ocean views. Just a short walk to restaurants, shops, grocery stores and the beach. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel that makes it easy to return without a long walk. It is further from downtown and the beach, so there is quite a bit of climbing up the stairs. It is pretty quick to take the stairs all the way down (less than 10 minutes). However, it can be a pretty intense climb back up, if you opt for the stairs. From the main square, it is about a 15-20 minute walk. You will find some small boutiques that have amazing authentic and locally made products. Just down the road, there is a grocery store that offers everything from wine to fresh deli foods.

The hotel staff is very attentive and friendly. They speak  very good English and are extremely polite and courteous. Very accommodating and helpful with directions, reservations, etc.  They help and guide you throughout your stay without hesitation. Nothing is too much trouble.

Hotel Villa Gabrisa Positano offers nine rooms. Each room has old world charm with modern finishes. They all have; Private balcony / terrace with sea view. Satellite TV. Individual air conditioning. A safe.  A mini bar (prices are very reasonable).  Daily cleaning and fresh towels. The bathroom has all the amenities. They have L’Occitane products in the bathroom. Sizes are generous and the smell is invigorating.

A very nice continental breakfast is included each morning. It’s the standard Italian breakfast and there’s no better way to start the day. Consisted of fresh fruit and yogurts. They also offer croissants, pastries, cakes, boiled eggs and a few options of cereals.

Hotel Villa Gabrisa Positano has a beautiful restaurant (Da Gabrisa) overlooking the bay which I recommend dinning at. Delicious food and service is excellent. They have sidewalk tables with a majestic view of Positano at night, or an equally lovely setting inside the restaurant.

    Hotel Miramare Positano

Hotel Miramare Positano is a remarkable hotel located on the hill overlooking the beach in Positano. It’s located approximately half way between the beach and the main road (Via Pasitea) going through town. There are many steps to descend to the beach and many to ascend to town but each step is really worth it. Keep in mind, Positano has stairs everywhere. So embracing the stair climbing is a necessity. By the end of your stay I am sure you will be a bit fitter and stronger legs. It’s centrally located, so it’s only a five minute walk to the main square (Piazzetta dei Mulini) which many of Positano’s stores and restaurants are located.

The hotel is very much old world charm. It is a small, with approximately a dozen rooms in the main building and a few more nearby in a separate building. Each room in the hotel has a balcony with a glorious view. From the room you can see the sea, the beach and a significant part of the hillside village. Rooms are tasteful and simple, but lovely nonetheless. Some are bigger than others but all offer the same beautiful view of the sea.  All rooms come with Satellite TV. Air Conditioner. A minibar and a safe. Daily housekeeping. Free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.

The entire staff is superb. Very friendly. Always smiling and making you feel at home from the moment of arrival. Especially, Rosita and Nicola. They both speak excellent English. They take the time to give you details of excursions and wonderful suggestions for lunch and dinner.  They also supply you with everything you need for the beach; towels, waterproof beach bags, etc.

Breakfast is excellent with a reasonable choice of continental breakfast. It includes fresh fruit, eggs, meats, and lots of different breads. It is served in a beautiful room with a flowering vine spreading over the entire ceiling and the walls. The dining room itself overlooks the sea which is just amazing.

Unfortunately, Hotel Miramare Positano doesn’t have a pool.

Remember, there are a lot of stairs to and from Hotel Miramare Positano. If you have heavy bags or require assistance to transport luggage, you will want to call the hotel ahead of time so they can send a porter.[/tab]
