Hotel La Scaletta is situated on the banks of the Arno River between Ponte Vecchio and Pitti Palace. This 3 star hotel is perfectly located in the Oltrarno area. You will find it to be less busy and not as crowed as in the Center of Florence. It only takes ten minutes to walk to the Duomo area and other historic landmarks in Florence.
Hotel La Scaletta is a beautiful 15th-century building. Most of the rooms are decorated in a traditional Tuscan style with vibrant orange walls. Bedrooms are clean and spacious. There is a safe, TV, minibar and free Wi-Fi available. Bathrooms are also clean with all kinds of amenities
The front desk will be more than helpful by making restaurant reservations, providing directions, booking tours and calling taxis. The entire staff is really lovely and fluent in English. You will find everyone here is friendly, gracious, and helpful.
A free continental buffet breakfast is available with some room packages. If its not included, there is a charge of 7 Euros. Breakfast is very good with many choices of fresh fruits, cereals, fresh breads and croissants. It also includes hot/cold meats and assorted cheese. You can have a wide range of teas, hot coffee and espresso.
The highlights of the hotel are the views you can enjoy. The view from the lower level terrace overlooks the Boboli Gardens and the Pitti Palace. The upper terrace gives you a panoramic, breathtaking view of Florence. Hotel La Scaletta has a wonderful restaurant located on the rooftop garden. There are only four tables so you have to reserve in advance. The food is delicious and the wine list comprehensive.
If you are looking for an authentic place with a spectacular view and a friendly staff, then Hotel La Scaletta is the place for you. I want to tell you they have a very small elevator that only fits two people and a couple of suitcases. Make sure you ask for one of the renovated rooms as there are a few still not upgraded.
