The location of Hotel Alessandra is superb. It is a short walk from the Uffizi Gallery (houses some of the finest art) and other famous landmarks in Florence. It is situated between Via dei Tornabuoni, a street full of designer shops (like Zara, Mango and H&M) and boutiques and Ponte Vecchio, the oldest bridge in the city.
When you arrive this 2 star hotel you must climb several flights of stairs or take the very small old-fashioned elevator. You will be welcomed by one of the family owners or their staff. Most of them speak very good English. They are lovely people. They are so friendly and helpful. They will arrange museum tickets and present useful tourist information you might need. Their goal is to make you feel right at home.
The bedrooms are beautiful, clean and spacious. All rooms come with a TV, heavy-duty safe and telephone. Not all of the bedrooms have private facilities. Some of them come with a shared bathroom that is spotlessly clean.
Hotel Alessandra provides free wireless access. They have a VoIP phone and they will allow you to make a free (ten minute) phone call anywhere in the world. You can also skype from your bedroom with a password the hotel provides.
There is a small roof terrace with a lovely view of the Arno River you can enjoy.
Continental breakfast is served in spacious breakfast room from 7.30 am to 9.30 am. It includes a wide choice of cereals, fruit, eggs, cold cuts, assorted cheese, freshly made pastries, coffee and tea.
Hotel Alessandra could be a bit difficult for someone with mobility issues. So you should look into before booking. The hotel has lower priced rooms with a shared bathroom and more expensive ones with a private bathroom. Just ask for something that meets your needs when you make reservations.
If you plan to visit Florence, be sure to consider Hotel Alessandra you won’t be disappointed.
