Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi is in a wonderful location, perched on a cliff offering the most amazing views of the sea and Coast. It's a five minute walk from the center, but quite a climb up. However, this isn't unusual as many of the hotels in Amalfi are built into the cliff. The ferry is really close by and you can take it to Positano, Sorrento, etc.
When you arrive at the hotel, there is an elevator that will take you within the hillside up to the hotel. From there another elevator will take you to reception on the fifth floor.
Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi is five star elegant hotel housed in a former 12th century monastery. It has been immaculately restored with contemporary white interiors. The refurbished Abbey Chapel and Cloisters is a beautiful opportunity for quiet reflection. The communal areas are light and airy with fantastic views. The entire property is simply breath-taking.
Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi features fifty-three rooms. There are thirty seven rooms among the Classic, Superior and Deluxe Rooms. And seventeen Junior Suites and Suites. Rooms are spotless and modern, with touches of old world charm, like the vintage tiles. Some rooms are equipped with a balcony. Most of the Deluxe Suites and Jr Suites offer either a balcony or a terrace with excellent views of the Amalfi coast. All bedrooms include air-conditioning, and heating. A satellite TV, and free Wi-Fi. A minibar, safety box, among other things. Private bathroom with elegant marble baths. Plenty of toiletries and a hairdryer. Sheets and towels changed at your request.
The service in the hotel is excellent. The staff are so kind and attentive. Always ready to assist, and make sure that you have a wonderful stay. They spend extra time helping you reserve a private boat if needed, and suggesting amazing restaurant recommendations.
The breakfast is delicious with lots to choose from; fruits, fresh pastries, meats and cheeses, etc.
And if you need some downtime from the sightseeing, the infinity pool at the hotel is heavenly. The pool is heated, with such an amazing view.
I would recommend booking dinner in the hotel also. They have two amazing restaurants. Both serve delicious cuisines. Service is great, with attention on all details.
Room Tip: Try to book a room that includes a terrace, you could spend your whole vacation lounging over the coast of Amalfi.
