Santa Caterina Hotel Amalfi is perched on the cliff overlooking the Mediterranean and the town of Amalfi. It is about three minute drive, or a ten to fifteen minute walk to the main area of Amalfi. The hotel provides a free shuttle service into town. From there you can take a bus to Ravello or Positano. There is also the option of taking a ferry boat to Positano and/or Capri for an easy day trip or just for lunch.

The facilities and staff are first rate. The grounds are covered with blooming flowers, lemon trees and vegetable gardens. Communal areas are beautifully decorated. Stunning tiled floors, large windows and bright flowers everywhere with an emphasis on welcoming warmth and comfort. It is a vertical hotel with a few levels reaching down to a delightful swimming pool positioned by the sea. Most of the levels can be reached by a glass elevator that will take your breath away.
From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel right at home. They are very friendly and professional. The level of service and attention to detail is impressive in every aspect (the front desk, porter, housekeeping, wait staff, pool attendants).
Hotel Santa Caterina has two restaurants on the premises. Meals in both are perfectly wonderful and the service are exemplary. Restaurant Santa Caterina serves incredible Mediterranean cuisine and is located in the main building. Ristorante Mare restaurant is perfectly positioned on a terrace just above Santa Caterina Hotel Amalfi private beach. Their specialties such as grilled fish and pizzas are cooked in a traditional wood burning oven.
In the evening make sure stop and have a glass of wine at Bar La Terrazza. It's welcoming environment, and panoramic view of Amalfi is the best way to end a perfect day.
The heated saltwater pool is magnificent, with steps that lead into the sea itself. Being able to directly jump into the sea to swim is awe-inspiring. Lounge chairs are really comfortable, and are placed throughout the property to allow guests to sun bathe. The pool staff brings complimentary ice water, fresh fruit, peanuts, chips and refreshing iced towels for cooling off. All of which are brought to your lounge chair throughout the day.
Complimentary breakfast is a feast with an astounding range of delicious choices. Pastries, an omelet station, cheese and meats, fruits, cereals, etc. It also includes a gluten free selection. It is served either in the windowed dining room or the open-air terrace.
