Hotel Poseidon Positano is a charming, old fashioned hotel with breathtaking views over the town of Positano and the sea. The hotel itself is located in a really good position in Positano. It's sitauted quite high up, so you do have quite a few stairs to tackle. However, it's worth it to have the lovely view. It's and easy walk to many restaurants and shops above. It takes about ten minutes to walk down to Piazza Tasso Sorrento, the beach, restaurants and shops. Just prepare for lots of steps and steep hills, but that's the uniqueness of Positano. The walk is absolutely stunning, relaxing, and keeps you from the noise of town. This is also an excellent base from which to tour the entire Amalfi coast.

Hotel Poseidon Positano has fifty rooms to offer. The furnishings are simple, comfortable and have a lovely old Italian charm. Each room has a different decor. All rooms are equipped with bathroom with shower and or bath. Plenty of toiletries and also a hairdryer. Air conditioning, minibar, safe, and satellite TV. They all feature free Wi-Fi. Additionally, they all have a terrace or a balcony. The standard rooms have a view of either the beautiful garden or the lovely town. Rooms and are cleaned daily and everything is of a very high standard throughout.

Hotel Poseidon Positano is well preserved and quirky, with an elevator you must see. They claim it's the oldest elevator in Positano. It small and very slow. But it adds to the charm of the hotel. The lounge area has many interesting artifact and antiques that add to the lovely ambiance of the hotel. 

Staff at the front desk are fantastic, and speak very good English. Always welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful with excellent restaurant suggestions and making bookings for day trips.

Breakfast is included in your room rate, which is excellent. The breakfast selection is superb, with a huge choice to suit everyone. The rooftop dining area where breakfast is serve each morning is majestic, with beautiful hanging flowers and lemon trees surround the area. The view of the sea, town and mountains are spectacular. The pool and bar area share that same sweeping view.

Hotel Poseidon Positano hosts night entertainment. It's situated by the pool, overlooking the lights of the town. Just a perfect way to end the day in beautiful Positano.

There's a small deli/grocer right across from the hotel. Perfect for snacks, Chianti, an antipasto lunch at reasonable prices. Be aware, you can't eat it at the hotel communal area.

Room Tip: The views are all incredible. Higher up, for less noise and privacy.
