Mangia Pizza Firenze
A two minute walk from Uffizi Gallery.
The pizzas are incredible. Super thin crust, with very generous toppings. They are baked in a brick oven with the freshest ingredients. They have different pizza options than usual. Pear & gorgonzola pizza. White pizza with mozzarella, artichokes and brie. If you love heat, order the spicy salami. Also try the dessert pizza. The one with nutella, mascarpone cheese and strawberries is amazing. You can choose your drinks from the fridge, or grab a glass of wine if you wish. You order and then sit down. When your pizza is done, they will bring it to you. It is a pretty small place. Not a lot of seating, (7 or 8 tables) but you can also get it to go. There are a many locals that come here for lunch, which is usually a good sign. The two men who own the place are clearly very passionate about what they do. Everyone is very helpful and welcoming, and they speak also speak English. If you are looking to have pizza at lunch time or a light early dinner, this is the place to go. (They are only open until 7:00 pm). Reasonably priced, and accept credit cards. Free Wi-Fi.

Alimentari Uffizi
A two minute walk from Uffizi Gallery.
The place is quaint and offers local specialities. It's a small shop, technically a grocery/deli but there are 3 or 4 tables. It has a great feel, and the owner makes sandwiches to order. He is incredibly nice and friendly, and will recommend sandwiches if you need any help. Great selection of meats/cheeses, artichokes, home-made bread, olives and other similar items. All products from his family’s farm. Go for the platter, which is a terrific cold cut selection. He can also make you a picnic lunch. They also have fruits/vegetables, biscotti, olive oil and a selection of wines. Make sure to try the biscuits dipped in sweet Vin Santo after your meal, it's fantastic. Friendly service. Great place for a quick, and inexpensive lunch.

Antico Fattore is situated on a narrow street near the Uffizi Gallery. If you are craving steak, come here. The Florentine steak for two is wonderful, tender and huge. Also, cooked a perfect medium rare. They also make fabulous grilled chicken, rabbit and lamb. Another big hit is the rigatoni pasta, served perfectly al dente, with wild boar sauce (and huge chunks of meat). Truffle ravioli is absolutely heavenly. Great atmosphere, wide selection on the menu, terrific wine and exceptional service! Recommend to anybody looking for delicious, authentic Florentine food. It is really important to book ahead, it does fill up quickly once they open.

Carapina Gelato
A two minute walk from Uffizi Gallery.
After walking around Florence on a hot summer day Carapina is the perfect place for a cool refreshing treat. It is situated on a small side street between the Uffzi and Ponte Vecchio (bridge). The gelato has an authentic creamy texture, and the flavors are just amazing. They have the basic flavors (chocolate, hazelnut, etc). Strawberry and peach are delicious. Both have fruit bits mixed in. In addition, they also have a wide range of different flavors. A very popular flavor is the Pecorino or Gorgonzola cheese, paired up with walnut, pear and dark chocolate. It is sensational. Flavors also change with the seasons. Staff service is also great, prices absolutely justified. No seating inside.

Golden View Open Bar is beautiful restaurant, with full glass windows overlooking the Arno River. Food is delicious, as there are many options. Grilled duck breast is cooked perfectly, well seasoned and the crispy skin elevates the flavor. Baked sea bass and swordfish entrees are full of flavor. They are cooked to perfection, and very moist. Quattro Formaggi Raviol is cheesy heavenly goodness. Desserts are divine. They also feature a great wine and drink list. Dishes are well executed, supported by brilliant service. The prices are a bit high, but ambiance is a large part of the experience, as are the views. A worthwhile visit, best to make a reservation. They have a limited menu, with specials that change daily. (Menu is in English). Everything is absolutely authentic Italian cuisine. If you like meat, try the signature Florentine Steak. Comes out thick, tender, flavorful and juicy. And cooked to perfection. Every pasta dish is cooked to a perfect al dente. Roasted chicken is flavorful and fantastic. The wine selection is also very good, as well as the desserts. Waitstaff speak limited English, but they make it work just fine. Great price for high quality food, would definitely recommend! A lot of the locals seem to go there, not a tourist trap at all.
