Hotel Danieli Venice
Hotel Danieli Venice is situated very conveniently, facing the lagoon on the Riva Degli Schiavoni. It is located in the center of great sightseeing spots. There are tons of transportation choices right in front of the hotel, including gondola rides. It is right next door to the The Doges Palace Venice and just around the corner from the famous Piazza San Marco (St Marks Square).
Hotel Danieli Venice consists of three buildings that are all connected. The center building is the oldest, which was built at end of the 14th century. It was originally built as three separate palaces, which explains the layout.
The hotel interior, a beautiful Venetian baroque style is a masterpiece. The lobby is decorated with beautiful Murano glass chandeliers, and the stairway is painted with gold. Antiques all around, incredible stained glass windows and a grand fireplace. The hotel features 210 guest rooms and suites, many with balconies overlooking the lagoon. Bedrooms and bathrooms are well appointed with all the modern touches needed. Size is quite big, by European standards. Plenty of storage space and quite comfortable.
The service throughout Hotel Danieli Venice is a perfect mix of elegance and friendly efficiency, and they speak English. Concierge desk is particularly helpfully, with many recommendations for places to go and nice restaurants to dine in.
The quality of the food in Hotel Danieli is outstanding. Starting with the breakfast buffet featuring almost anything you could wish for (both hot and cold dishes). Breakfast is served on the roof top terrace and the view from there is simply amazing. Breathtaking views; 180 degrees of blue water, gondolas going by, the whole nine yards. A wonderful place to start your day, especially when it is warm and sunny.
The hotel restaurant also resides on the roof top. The food is bold, fresh and flavorful. Very attentive staff, and again the view is spectacular. Particularly when the sun is setting from the south.
You can be dropped off/picked up at the Hotel Danieli Venice private dock entrance, so you can avoid the crowds with luggage in tow.
It is an expensive hotel. If you have the means to stay in this historical hotel, Hotel Danieli Venice is definitely a wonderful experience.
