Miramalfi Hotel Amalfi
Miramalfi Hotel Amalfi is situated on the side of a cliff with gorgeous views of the sea, marina and the town of Amalfi. The location of this lovely hotel is perfect with just a short stroll to town. It's just a five minute walk to town, but walking back is all uphill. If you decide to walk, you need to be careful. It is a windy and very narrow road with cars speeding by. You also need to walk through a tunnel and then take a flight of steps down the center of town. The hotel does offer a complimentary shuttle to and from the hotel. It runs in the morning through the early evening as well. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel that will take you to Sorrento, Positano, etc.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted in a very friendly manner by the attentive and accommodating front desk. They are magnificent with information, boat and bus times, and making restaurant reservations. And they speak great English, another bonus!
Miramalfi Hotel Amalfi offers forty-nine rooms to choose from. Rooms are big, compared to the European standard. They have a nice mix of standard and superior rooms. In addition they have junior suites and some honeymoon suites. Each room has a TV with satellite channels, free Wi-Fi (works well). It also includes air conditioning and a minibar. Some of them rooms come with a balcony. The bathroom comes with a hairdryer and enough toiletries.
The salt water pool is built into the cliff face at the base of the hotel, with loungers (sunbeds) everywhere. They have a waiter that serves drinks poolside, and they offer complimentary towels. You can go to the ocean directly by stairs and by elevator (carved out of the cliff). The area is private, nice and very peaceful. There are sundecks on the rocks above the ocean with loungers, umbrellas and beach towels. There is an iron ladder that goes directly into the water. And if you are feeling adventurous, you can jump (a few feet) off the lower ledge into the sea.
The restaurant serves traditional Campania cuisine. Great food and service. The view from the dining room is truly exceptional looking at Amalfi and the ocean. Breakfast is complimentary, and served in the same dining room. They have a large and diverse spread of foods to cater for all tastes.
Just be aware, if you have any mobility issues you might really struggle at this hotel, as there are many steps leading to everything.
If you have a hire car, parking is available for a small fee (€18 per day).
Room Tip: It is worth the extra money for a balcony room with the beach view.
