Il Nido Hotel Sorrento
Il Nido Hotel Sorrento is almost at the top of the highest hill above the main city. This gives it amazing views of the Sorrento bay, Mount Vesuvius and Naples. The hotel is located ten minutes (driving distance) from the city center of Sorrento. It's about a thirty minute walk. Il Nido Hotel Sorrento provides a free shuttle service to the city square and back. It runs at 8, 9 and 10 a.m. each morning, then 3 to 11 p.m. There is also a SITA bus stop right in front of the hotel. It's also a good base if you plan to take some walks up the hill to the monastery.
Il Nido Hotel Sorrento is a family run business. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Always ready and willing to help their guests to have the best vacation experience in whatever way they can. With advice, and providing excellent information about the things to do and how to arrange them.
Rooms are comfortable, well appointed. Large by European standards. Kept very clean and tidy. Decor is pretty standard, but who cares? How long do you actually stay in the hotel, with all the sightseeing you plan on doing. There is a TV and mini-bar in the room (pay extra for mini-bar). The free Wi-Fi is excellent.
Breakfast and dinner is served on a terrace overlooking the Bay of Naples, and the lush valley below. Complimentary breakfast spread is exceptional, with a lot of variety. Cold cuts, cheese and fresh breads. Muffins, hash browns, cereal, fruits, hot beverages and juice. They also serve eggs and bacon. They also have a juicer, so you can make fresh orange juice. The restaurant is top notch. The evening dining options are reasonable and delicious. They have a wonderful menu filled with delicious dishes that they prepare fresh every evening.
If you are looking for a rest day from sightseeing, be aware that Il Nido Hotel Sorrento doesn't have a pool. However, it does have a sunbathing area (loungers, umbrella and a shower) for their guests.
In the basement of the hotel there is a washer and dryer, which is very useful if you are traveling light. Laundry soap is provided.
Free and easy access parking at the hotel.
If you want to be close to the beach or a pool, this might not be the right place for you. However, if you are a budget conscious traveler and want to enjoy Sorrento at a relaxed place, Il Nido Hotel Sorrento is just perfect.
Room Tip: If you're willing to spend a little extra, get a room with a view. You will absolutely love the view.
