Hotel Crocini is based in a quiet residential area. 19th-century building is surrounded by a private picturesque garden. The street has little traffic. Part of it is blocked to restrict access to the American Embassy. It is a block from the Arno River and beautiful extensive parks. It's a little way away from the city center however still within easy reach. Uffizi Gallery and Pitti Palace is about a fifteen minute-walk. Maybe twenty depending on how fast you walk. But that shouldn't be a problem. This is the reason why you travel. To get to know the city. Transportation choices are limited, but easily accessible.
Front desk is very friendly and welcoming. They will give you a map and brief introduction to Florence. Gabriel is a delight. She will give you a ton of helpful information. The rest of the staff is polite and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble. All of them speak English very well. Lorenzo, the owner is a wealth of knowledge. Will talk to you for hours if you let him. Don't hesitate to ask him anything about Florence. His advice and restaurant suggestions are superb.
Hotel Crocini houses twenty rooms. The entrance, halls and dining areas have a splendid grandeur about them. They offer several different sizes. Rooms and bathrooms are well equipped. Soap and shampoo provided. All rooms are clean and well kept. Some do not come with a private bathroom. Marble floors throughout the hotel make it nice and cool in the rooms.
Breakfast buffet is included in the price. It is bountiful and very presentable. It includes scrambled eggs, meat and cheese. They also offer yogurt and fresh fruit. They have cereal, pastries, juice, tea and coffee. The breakfast room is spacious. Comfortable seating. There is a silent video presentation of Florence along with soft music playing during breakfast.
Wi-Fi works well and is complimentary. Two laptops and a printer is available for guests to use in the lobby.
Hotel Crocini has an outdoor patio. It is a pleasant place to have drinks in the evening.
Hotel Crocini is an excellent choice. It has extremely attractive rates. Not a hotel for the luxury traveler. Should be apparent from the prices. Request a courtyard room with a balcony. Don't forget to ask for a room with a private restroom. They have on site parking for hotel guests. Overall the hotel is a good value. A terrific stay while you are on holiday.
