Hotel Berchielli
Hotel Berchielli is steps away from Ponte Vecchio. It is situated in a picturesque setting on the banks of the Arno River. The location of this 4 star hotel could not be better with its easy access. The Uffizi Gallery is just a couple minutes away on foot. The rest of Florence’s historic sites, including the Santa Maria Novella train station is within easy walking distance.
The staff at the front desk is very helpful with all your questions and requests. They are courteous and speak excellent English.
Bedrooms feature simple, modern décor in subtle colors. The rooms are comfortable and are a decent size. They are furnished with antique furniture and has good air conditioning. The satellite TV has numerous channels you can watch. Beds are comparable to other Italian hotels. The bathrooms are a good size and are very clean. They provide fresh towels everyday. There is hair dryer, a bidet and many useful toiletries. Wi-Fi is available in the hotel rooms and is free of charge.
Hotel Berchielli has a small bar with a couple of couches to sit and enjoy a cocktail. There is a nice roof top terrace as well where you can enjoy the spectacular view and have a nice glass of wine.
The breakfast buffet has a wide variety of choices. You have a choice of cereals, fruit juices, eggs, bacon, pastries, rolls, yogurt, jams and fresh fruit. The cappuccinos are fabulous and a great way to start the day. The wait staff working the breakfast shift are always smiling and helpful.
Prices are very reasonable. Some rooms don't offer a view. If you can afford an upgrade, request for a room with a view, it's spectacular. The rooms facing away from the river are much quieter at night, however they don’t have the view. I just want to inform you on one thing I found a bit odd. The staff asks that you hand your key at the front desk each time you leave the hotel. Besides that little quirk, I highly recommend Hotel Berchielli for short or long stay holiday. Private parking is available at a location nearby Hotel Berchielli and charges apply.
